Most Web Conferencing applications include some form of electronic whiteboard that can
be used to draw and share simple diagrams in real-time. The same
functionality can be used for sharing existing photos, screen shots, maps, etc.
This is done by simply dropping the existing image on the shared whiteboard.
The image is
then immediately available for web meeting participants to view and annotate.
The electronic whiteboards that are included in most web conferencing packages,
normally allow any web meeting participant to save or print images for later
reference.
The sharing of information via a whiteboard can be very powerful. Communicating in
pictures is often much more effective that communicating solely in words.
This is especially true in certain disciplines, such as engineering and technology.
When planning online meetings and conferences, give some thought to how
you can leverage this functionality.
